COVID-19 Information

Since the start of the pandemic, Mid Coast Senior Health’s response to novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) has prioritized the safety of our residents. Learn more about the current COVID-19 precautions and safety measures in place at our facility on this page.

Safety Measures

In response to COVID-19, Mid Coast Senior Health continues to enforce safety measures including stringent hand hygiene, routine COVID surveillance testing, and universal masking of all staff at the facility. Enhanced cleaning routines are in place.

Due to the decline in COVID-19 cases in our community, Mid Coast Senior Health has recently updated our visitation policy. Currently, all residents in all communities may receive visitors indoors. Visitors entering the building must wear masks while in common areas and remain in the resident’s private room/apartment for the duration of the visit. Residents may also leave the campus to attend community activities.

Testing

Following Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) guidelines, Mid Coast Senior Health conducts routine surveillance COVID-19 testing of staff. Based on the current COVID test positivity rate in Cumberland County, we are required to test all unvaccinated staff, private duty personnel, volunteers, and other staff at least once per month. Since March 2020, testing has resulted in 14 positive staff cases and one positive resident case.

Staff and Resident Screening

Mid Coast Senior Health screens all persons entering the facility. All staff, vendors, and visitors who enter the facility must pass through screening each day on-site that consists of a temperature check and symptom monitoring.
