Mid Coast Senior Health Named Best Nursing Home
Nov 23, 2021
Mid Coast Senior Health has been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report. Mid Coast Senior Health earned Best Nursing Homes status by achieving a rating of "High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for its Long-Term Care at Mere Point and Rehabilitation at Bodwell communities.
U.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News’s assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures. This year’s ratings include some new requirements for a home to earn a "High-Performing” rating; most notably that federal CMS data published by October 14 must list the home as having a COVID-19 staff-vaccination rate of at least 75%. As a result, of more than 15,000 U.S. skilled-nursing facilities evaluated, barely 2,000 earned even a single High-Performing rating.
"We are delighted to be recognized for the quality of care that we deliver at Mid Coast Senior Health,” said Kim Watson, Mid Coast Senior Health Administrator. "While we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, this designation attests to our unwavering commitment to provide outstanding care to our patients, residents, and families.”
Best Nursing Homes ratings are based on U.S. News’s in-depth analysis of publicly available data, using a methodology that evaluates factors determined to most greatly impact patient and resident care, safety, and outcomes.
